Special Session on
Ultra Wide Context and Content Aware Imaging
 - PANORAMA 2014

7 January, 2014 - Lisbon, Portugal

Within the 9th International Joint Conference on Computer Vision, Imaging and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications - VISIGRAPP 2014

François Brémond

Egor Bondarev
Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e)

The PANORAMA Special Session held during the VISAPP 2014 conference will focus on technologies that advance the acquisition, processing, analysis, and presentation of multi-view, multi-source, and multi-modal images and video. The name PANORAMA refers to the three concepts of Ultra Wide Imaging, and Content- and Context-aware imaging, which reflect the move from “single-view imaging” towards “multi-view imaging” in various domains such as Healthcare, Broadcasting, and Surveillance.

We invite original and unpublished research contributions on hardware and software advances which enable and advance multi-view imaging technologies, on topics such as smart cameras and detectors, multi-camera calibration, multi-camera content identification and tracking, and real-time driving of acquisition/processing based on content/context, and multi-modal data fusion.

Each of these topic areas is expanded below but the sub-topics list is not exhaustive. Papers may address one or more of the listed sub-topics, although authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable, provided they fit in one of the following main topic areas:
• Ultra-wide imaging
• Content-aware imaging
• Context-aware imaging

Ultra-wide imaging:
Multi-source and multi-modality image acquisition, processing, and analysis
Inter-camera calibration
Merging acquisitions into panoramic or 3D representation
Multi-modal 2D/3D data fusion

Content-aware imaging:
Intelligent, content-based, image acquisition, processing, and analysis
Content-based quality assessment
Object detection/classification/tracking
Multi-camera tracking/re-identification
Smart cameras

Context-aware imaging:
Multi-camera networks
Joint optimization of multi-camera systems
Simplified representations of multiple video streams
